Trying out the Enterprise Edition

If you would like to try out the Enterprise Edition for a limited time before deciding whether to buy it, a Trial Version of the Enterprise Edition is available to be used either as a hosted account online or as a plugin to be downloaded and installed in your ProcessMaker server.

The Hosted Enterprise Trial is a convenient way to test the Enterprise Edition, without the hassle of installing and configuring ProcessMaker on your own server. To test how the Enterprise Edition will work with your existing implementation of ProcessMaker, use the Enterprise Trial Plugin.

Enterprise Trial Guide

The Enterprise Trial is designed to allow you to try out ProcessMaker's Enterprise Edition for a 30 day period on the cloud. After signing up for an account, you will receive a workspace, where you can login and work with sample processes and case data to better evaluate ProcessMaker's features. In addition, the Enterprise Trial includes integrations with Knowledge Tree, Pentaho Reporting and Advanced LDAP so you can test some of the advanced feature in the Enterprise Edition.

Signing up for an Enterprise Trial Account

If successfully deploying the ProcessMaker Community Edition but still needing to add more functionality, the Enterprise Edition of ProcessMaker will fulfill every demand you may have with its proprietary plugins. These plugins greatly optimize the performance and easily help manage ProcessMaker. Moreover, some plugins have been designed to bring integration tools and 3rd party integration. After obtaining your license, like the main open source core, all the source code for the Enterprise Edition plugins can be viewed, but the "shared source" license does not allow the plugin code to be changed or redistributed.

Hosted Enterprise Trial

To try out the Enterprise Edition in a hosted account, please register for a free 30-day trial of the Enterprise Edition at http://www.processmaker.com/etrialreg. Fill out the application form, with information about your organization or business.

Note: This guide was written for version 2.5.x. The link redirects to the trial version of the latest version of ProcessMaker.

Then, click on the Submit button. After the trial account is created, you will receive an email with information about how to login to your trial account:

Click on the link sent in the email and at the login screen which appears, enter "admin" for the User and the password which you provided in the registration form.

Note: Please note your password and workspace ID. The password is valid for all users already created in ProcessMaker that you will be able to use in the trial period.

In addition, you should be contacted shortly by a ProcessMaker sales representative to discuss what services ProcessMaker offers.

Logging into the Enterprise Trial server

After setting up an Enterprise Trial account, direct your web browser to:

http://enterprisetrial.processmaker.com/sysWorkspaceName/en/neoclassic/l...

Replace WorkspaceName with the name that you filled out on the registration form.

Then enter, the login credentials:

User: admin
Password: password

You should have received a randomly generated password an email after signing up for the Enterprise Trial.

After logging in for the first time, you can change the password of your "admin" user by going to the ADMIN menu, then going to the Users tab and selecting the Users option in the sidebar. Search for the "admin" user, by entering "administrator" in the Search box and pressing ENTER. Then, click on the Edit button to edit the admin's profile and change the password.

Using the Enterprise Trial Account

Once you have logged into your trial account go to Admin > Plugins > Enterprise Plugins Manager to view the list of all available plugins to work with inside the account.

Above there is the list of available plugins, to view the documentation and how it works click on the name of the plugin.

To use a plugin it must be enabled. However, some of them are disabled by default which does not mean they are not installed or unavailable. To enable them right click on them and select the option Enable.

There are some plugins that are not available in the trial account and have the message  in the last column. These plugins are only available depending on the customer's subscription. These plugins are the following:

Also notice that there are already 42 users created. If you need or want to log in with this users, you need to use the same password you registered with. This users have already been placed in departments and groups. All this are also been assign the each process.

Enterprise Trial Plugin

If you like try out ProcessMaker locally, you would need to contact ProcessMaker at 1-617-340-3377 or email them at info@processmaker.com.

Once you have contacted the sales department of ProcessMaker, they will send you an email with a link on where to download the plugin. Please note that you will only have 5 days to download, if you are not able to download in this period, you will have to contact ProcessMaker again.

When you click on the link to download the plugin, you will be asked for a code, this should also be in the email. If for some reason this code is not available, you need to contact ProcessMaker. You will need to enter the code and accept the license before downloading the plugin.

Save the file in you local machine. This should have a name like, enterprise-2.17-trial.tar. Once you have downloaded and saved on your machine, all you need to do is import it in ProcessMaker.

To import the enterprise trial plugin, go to the ADMIN tab and click on plugins. You should see a button which says IMPORT. Click on this button and select the plugin file (tar file downloaded) to import.

Both the enterprise trial and plugin are identical. The only difference is that the Enterprise Trial is in cloud server. This version also contains sample processes and user already created for you to use. You do not need to do any installation or configuration. Once you register, you are set to dive in and try out ProcessMaker.

Even though the Enterprise plugin contains the same features, you need to first install ProcessMaker in a local machine or server. There are also no existent users or processes, you would need to create it on your own. You can get the sample process that already exist on the Cloud server, but you need to contact ProcessMaker for this.

Buying the Enterprise Edition

The Enterprise Edition can be obtained by either calling the ProcessMaker Sales department at +1-617-340-3377 or sending an email to info@processmaker.com. A sales representative will provide you with information about the different Support Plans for the Enterprise Edition.
