Pentaho Reporting is an open source business intelligence suite providing advanced reporting, analysis and data mining, which is very useful when analyzing the efficiency and productivity of your organization using ProcessMaker. ProcessMaker Enterprise Edition provides an integration with Pentaho Reporting, so that the power and flexibility of Pentaho Reporting can be accessed inside the ProcessMaker interface. Custom reports generated by Pentaho are available under the Enterprise Edition's DASHBOARD and REPORTS menus.

Requirements

ProcessMaker and Pentaho Requirements

  • ProcessMaker v2.0.45 or higher (stable version + available hotfix)
  • Enterprise Plugin v2.0.17 or higher (stable version + available hotfix)
  • Pentaho v3.5.2 or 4.5

    Bug Fixes

    • 8616: Roles Manager Fatal Error when trying to move to the next page.
    • 10049: While using UXMODERN skin and viewing the REPORTS tab another frame with the classic skin in ProcessMaker appears.
    • 10132: Some reports come up with no data on anything related to task times / duration.
    • 10230: Pentaho Reporting showing information from deleted cases.
    • 10934: Active Directory Sub-Organizational Units are not being synchronized as Sub-Departments in ProcessMaker.
    • 10537: Pentaho default reports are not available.
    • 12069: Dashboard functionality disappears after installing Pentaho Plugin.
    • 10932: Processmaker Panel is lost after selecting "Reports" based on Pentaho.

    Known Issues

    The following bugs/new feature requests are planned for fixing in the next stable release of the plug-in:

    • 13246: When assigning a sub-department in pentaho roles, the sub-department is displaying as if it were a regular department.
    • 13290: It is not possible to connect to Pentaho when there is a space after and before the username.
    • 13349: Incompatibility of Curl of PHP 5.2. X in windows with Pentaho server.
    • 13351: There is no validation when a role is edited using an existing role name.
    • 13389: When ProcessMaker default DB installation configuration is changed. The default configuration of Pentaho doesn't work.
    • 13391: When Pentaho plugin is enabled all data inside APP_CACHE_VIEW table are deleted.

    Recommendations

    Once the PHP version is changed, it is necessary not only to delete the connection and user from the administrator console in Pentaho, but also the folder which is created in the Pentaho console, since updated files are not overwritten.

    • If the Pentaho server has a folder with the same name as the workspace where a new connection is required, this folder must be deleted, otherwise the plugin can’t upload files of the default reports.
    • When the Pentaho server connection is created for the first time or the option "Rebuild" inside the plugin is used and you access the Pentaho server to see if the folder was created successfully, you must delete the cache of Pentaho to have new folder displayed immediately. But if you do not do that after a while, Pentaho automatically updates its cache and the folder will be displayed.
    • When the plugin creates a new Pentaho connection, it uses the server domain, if this domain is not configured (it is not possible to access it or it doesn’t exist) on the network where the server is located, the connection created won’t work and it will be required to login to Pentaho in order to modify the connection, to use the IP instead of the domain that was detected.
