Q: Who can use ProcessMaker Platform?

A: All ProcessMaker 4 users will automatically be upgraded to ProcessMaker Platform. For users on ProcessMaker 3, the minimum version required for an upgrade to ProcessMaker Platform is 3.8.0.

A: Upgrading to ProcessMaker Platform provides a unique value proposition as it offers the best of both worlds. Users can enjoy the latest BPM technology with ProcessMaker 4 while retaining the ability to run and manage their current ProcessMaker 3 processes.

 

Q: What happens to ProcessMaker 3 users when transitioning to ProcessMaker Platform?

A: ProcessMaker 3 users must upgrade to version 3.8.0 to be able to use ProcessMaker Platform. Once upgraded, they can access/edit all their current ProcessMaker 3 processes using the PM Classic feature. However, any new processes must be created in ProcessMaker Platform.

A: PM Classic is a feature integrated into ProcessMaker Platform that allows users to access and interact with processes built on ProcessMaker 3.

A: Yes, ProcessMaker Platform features the PM Classic function that enables you to access and edit your existing ProcessMaker 3 processes. New requests of existing processes can be created and any active requests will also continue to function as designed. However, new processes can only be created in the new ProcessMaker Platform interface.

A: Yes, ProcessMaker Platform is backward-compatible, ensuring seamless compatibility with all ProcessMaker 3 processes.

A: ProcessMaker 3 processes will continue to run seamlessly in ProcessMaker Platform through the PM Classic feature and do not have to be migrated. However, we highly recommend that processes are redesigned in ProcessMaker Platform to benefit from the latest technology and new features.

 

Q: Can ProcessMaker Platform be used on-premises or only in the cloud?

A: Currently, ProcessMaker Platform is only available in the cloud. However, you can choose to run a Kubernetes architecture on your premises and purchase Cloud Disaster Recovery services from ProcessMaker. Please contact your Customer Success Manager for more information.

 

Q: How can I ensure the security of my data on ProcessMaker Platform?

A: ProcessMaker Platform is a secure SaaS service maintained and regularly updated by our Cloud Operations team. We follow best practices and have strict security vulnerability tests to ensure maximum data security.

A: Yes, both ProcessMaker 3 processes and native ProcessMaker Platform processes can share data via RESTful Data Connectors. This feature enables Process Designers to share information between them as required.
